Addition of niobium in inconel 625 acts with the molybdenum to provide exceptional strength and robustness. Alloy 625 has superior fatigue strength and stress-corrosion cracking resistance to chloride ions. Inconel 625 is commonly utilized to weld AL-6XN. This alloy resists an extensive range of highly corrosive environments as well as resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion. Inconel 625 is utilized in various industries such as chemical processing, aerospace, marine engineering, nuclear reactors, and pollution control equipment.

Fabrication with Inconel 625

Inconel 625 has superior forming and welding characteristics. It is forged or utilized in maintained temperature range of about 1800-2150° F. To manage grain size, finish hot working applications should be done at the lower temperature range. Due to superior ductility Inconel 625 is easily formed by cold working. Nevertheless alloy 625 harden rapidly hence intermediate annealing treatments my need require intricate compound forming operations. To restore the best stability of properties, all hot or cold parts need to be annealed and rapidly cooled. It can be welded by both manual as well as automatic welding methods, with gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, electron beam and resistance welding. It display superior restraint welding characteristics
